Statement From CEO on New Tariff Policies & Tomu Pricing Protections

To Our Community,

Yesterday afternoon, the Administration announced a new round of tariffs on certain imported materials, including products relevant to construction and manufacturing. As a Maryland-based company founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, much of our supply chain already is comprised of mostly fellow domestic partners. Our partners with global supply chains, however, have given us early indications of the downstream impacts to their business. While the full economic impact will unfold over time, it’s reasonable to expect upward pressure on material costs across the building industry and for Tomu both directly and indirectly.

At Tomu, we understand the planning and budgeting implications this will have on our current and prospective clients, and we are committed to ensuring cost certainty and predictability by any means we can. To that end, we are announcing the following new pricing protections:

  • Limited Time 60-Day Price Lock on All Pre-Orders: Beginning this Friday, April 4th, Tomu customers will be able to secure their desired production slot and and current 2025 pricing by joining our Pre-Order Waitlist with refundable deposits starting at $95.00 (USD) for our Junior Villa, $175 for our Studio Villa, $275 for our 1-Bedroom Villa, and $375 for our 2-Bedroom Duplex Villa.

Those who place their pre-order before Friday, April 25th will have their current 2025 price secured for 60-days on all of our newly enhanced Villa floor plans and personalization options launched during our “Yours, Truly” product announcement. This gives our customers the necessary time to consult with our team and remove price uncertainty before the final order is placed permanently securing the current pricing.

  • Flat-Rate Delivery Pricing on All Newly Announced Villa Models: As a part of our new Pre-Order Waitlist, Tomu will offer all new Tomu customers optional flat-rate pricing on unit shipping. For those that select the service, the cost of shipping will be standardized at $7500 (USD) per module for orders within 1500 miles of Tomu’s Maryland Production Facility. Our goal is to further reduce the added logistical steps and cost variables in the building process.

We believe our partners should be able to move forward with clarity and confidence, especially in periods of market uncertainty and will continue to refine our options to clients as new policies play out. If you’re currently in the planning process or considering a project, our team is available to walk you through what this means for your specific timeline and scope.

Thank you for your continued trust in Tomu.

Sincerely,

Chris Osaka,
Chief Executive Officer
