WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As the Architectural Design Coordinator you will be hands-on in bringing our modular building designs to life. In this role, you will be coordinating the design and certification process of our new products and bringing your knowledge of architecture and construction to ensure new model designs are completed on-time and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires experience in diverse design fields and the ability to translate that expertise into pioneering prefabricated and modular construction methodologies. Excellent communication skills and an assertive personality will be required in managing projects between different functional teams within the company.

Specifically, you will be:

  • Researching and sourcing of innovative new products to incorporate into our offering

  • Assisting the Design Team in managing product line costs and margins

  • Helping manage the certification process and coordinate document submissions and feedback

  • Developing final product and material specification documents for handoff to manufacturing

  • Creating client-facing collateral of product specifications, requirements, and installation directions

  • Project management of open Design Team deliverables

  • Collaborating between the Design and Manufacturing teams on any product updates or manufacturing processes.

This will be a salaried position remotely based out of the Greater Washington, DC-Area with regular visits to our Hagerstown, Maryland fabrication facility and reporting to the Head of Product Development.    

  

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum five (5) years in collaborative team working environment

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a construction, design, or architectural support role

  • Minimum two (2) years of multi-project management experience

  • Additional experience/knowledge desired: understanding of residential and commercial design/build process; familiarity with architectural design software such as SketchUp or Revit; proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Suite

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As a Carpenter & Construction Specialist, you will be a key player in bringing our hospitality products to life. In this role, you will be hands-on in the fabrication of our modular units and bringing your knowledge of construction and manufacturing to creatively solve issues in the build process and ensure our units are completed on-time and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires experience in diverse technical fields and the ability to translate that expertise into the manufacturing of our modular products.  An adaptable personality and leadership skills will be required.

Specifically, you will be:

  • Handling various stages of manufacturing such as framing, roofing, insulation, drywall, and interior carpentry

  • Installing various interior fixtures and furnishings

  • Helping create processes for the pre-assembly of various components

  • Working with all types of power equipment involved in building construction

  • Maintaining an OSHA-compliant safe work environment 

This will be a hourly position based out of our Hagerstown, Maryland fabrication facility and reports to the Production Supervisor.  

  

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Level I: Minimum two (2) years of experience in supervised hands-on construction role

  • Level II: Minimum five (5) years of experience in an independent hands-on technical or construction role

  • Level III: Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a hands-on technical, construction, or manufacturing role with supervisory and team leadership responsibilities

  • Creativity in the building process, ability to think of new ways of doing things

  • Additional experience/knowledge desired: understanding of residential building process; non-standard roofing, siding, and water proofing; electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC; fire suppression systems; framing and carpentry skills

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As the Intern, Marketing you will help bring the Tomu brand story to life through marketing. In this role, you will be hands-on in the launch of the Tomu brand and deploying your creative talents to grow our audience of potential direct-to-consumer and business-to-business customers. This role requires a personal perspective and desire to learn more about the diverse field of marketing and the ability to translate that knowledge into implementable strategies to achieve Marketing goals. An adaptable personality and project management skills will be needed as this position supports the deliverables of concurrent Marketing needs.

Specifically, you will be:

  • Ideating and implementing ways to organically grow our social media audience

  • Supporting photo/video content shoots

  • Copywriting for social media posts, email blasts, website content, and other marketing assets

  • Managing comments and replies of social media accounts

  • Supporting any event activations

You will be learning:

  • Brand, product, and retail marketing

  • Paid-media strategies, tactics and audience targeting (performance marketing)

  • Email marketing best practices

  • Modular construction, interior design, carpentry, and product development

This will be an hourly part-time position based remotely in the Washington, DC-area with occasional visits to the Frederick, Maryland fabrication facility and reports to the Director of Brand Marketing.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a marketing or media-related role or undergraduate marketing program

  • Additional experience/knowledge desired: thorough of understanding of Instagram/TikTok features and associated photo and video editing apps; experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
