Tomu, Inc. Announces Start of Local Residential Deliveries From Its New Maryland Production Facility

The Greater Washington-Area modular building company is meeting rising demand for hospitality development while expanding its sustainable lodging solutions to private clients.

WASHINGTON, DC & HAGERSTOWN, MD – Tomu, Inc., the award-winning, sustainability-focused hospitality development company, has begun delivering its first prefab lodging units to residential buyers from its Hagerstown, Maryland production facility. Known for prefabricated guest rooms for hospitality projects, Tomu offers their line of Signature Villas to private clients looking to create their own personal retreats or vacation rentals.

Tomu closed on its lease of the former Fairchild Aviation facility at historic Hagerstown Regional Airport late last year and began limited production as it expanded its footprint of operational space through early this year. Tomu’s prefab lodging units are specifically designed for commercial leisure-use and rapid assembly as the industry faces new supply shortages amid growing traveler demand and an increasing pressure to adopt sustainable building and operating practices. Units can be installed on-site in just days, significantly reducing project timelines compared to traditional construction. Built with sustainability in mind, Tomu Villas use commercial-grade materials and energy-efficient designs that meet the needs of both hospitality developers and private homeowners.

“The start of residential deliveries from our new Maryland facility is a critical milestone in our journey and we thank our clients that have been patiently waiting,” said Chris Osaka, Chief Executive Officer of Tomu, Inc. “While we remain focused on innovating to solve the challenges facing the hospitality industry, our residential demand reaffirms that buyers are looking for more unique options in a sea of sameness.”

Recently nominated for the Independent Lodging Congress INDIE Award in the “Indie Rebel” category and named a 2024 Skift IDEA Award winner for “Industry Innovator: Visionary 2030,” Tomu continues to gain recognition for its approach to hospitality design and development.
